"Music is me" newly founded producer Classik often says to many people." My whole family has been involved in music, from singing, production and even owning their own label. It's time to take control and bring my family name to the forefront."
Born and raised in Kentucky, Classik develop a taste for music at a tender young age. "I remember listening to everything, and I mean everything as a child. Once I gotten older, folks use to look at me crazy because I knew all the songs that played either on TV on those info commercials or even at the movie theaters." says Classik. At the age of 9 years old is when he decided to take up music. And did he succeed, from 3rd grade all the way up to college; Classik won numerous awards while involved in the band program.” I was a competitor; everything I do, I want to be the best, which lead me to have a strong desire to accomplish something if I put my mind to it. Reason why I can simple pick up an instrument, play it and be good at it in a short amount of time."
From that point on is when Classik decided to pick up the piano at the age of 16. With only 5 total lessons under his belt; Classik went on to being involved in his church music department, after that was accomplished, he decided to take his talent and explore what he can do. which lead to a few accomplishments:
*Guest keyboardist for 2000-2004 Midwest Baptist Youth Conference. (Detroit, Nashville, Louisville, Indianapolis, Chicago) * Keyboardist for Louisville Gospel Chorale (Wings of Faith Choir) *Thomas Dorsey National Convention keyboardist (2004) Indianapolis *2000-2003 tenor for University of Louisville Black Diamond Gospel Choir
After giving up on music to take a career in tech support/software development, Classik got his itch to come back to music after a 3 year layoff by djing at a local coffeehouse that does spoken word on the weekends. Not knowing where it would lead, but in everything situation, it can only get better. That's when Classik met up with a super producer named, Rare Kommodity from Columbus, Ohio.” This man was doing it, I was in shock to see how his beats are developed and the finish product ends up being priceless. He was the one that gave me motivation to jump into production and see what I can do." explains Classik. “The rest is history"
Currently Classik is working with the So.Au’s family that includes talented Eville and Cgats on their future projects coming soon in 2008, as well as the highly sought album coming out in 2008, Hip Hop Reunited.
